About Mike...

Michael Valcarcel joins Wellspring Fitness after completing an intensive, 6 month internship as a Strength Coach.  Michael grew up in Pennington, NJ and attended Hopewell Valley Central High School.  While at HVCHS, Michael played basketball and soccer. As a four year Varsity basketball player, Michael was voted as Captain for three years, earned All-County honors for three years, and earned the Colonial Valley Conference Sportsmanship Award in 2008. 

After in injury plagued senior year, he decided to turn down multiple Division II and Division III offers to attend Rutgers University, New Brunswick.  While at Rutgers, Michael worked for the Rutgers Football team as a Student Equipment Manager, Operations Assistant, and Recruiting Assistant.  He graduated in 2012 with a B.S in Exercise Science and Sport Studies and minor in Psychology. 

Being active has always been a way of life for Michael and his personal experience with injuries has motivated him to pursue corrective exercise. His work with Wellspring allows him to share his extensive knowledge of human movement and motivation as well as continue his life long pursuit of learning.  In his free time Michael enjoys working out, playing basketball, football, and tennis.  His goal is to serve as many people as he possible can while at Wellspring and to change lives with his wisdom, passion, and care....
